Top end running/sprinting speed

Squat Rack Pro Curler
G'day All,

Any suggestions on how to build up my top end running speed? I have good acceleration but I just can't seem to get to a faster enough top speed once the acceleration stops.

Distances I am looking to cover are between 20m and 100m

Cheers,
Adam

I'm not an expert on this but acceleration is mostly quads while top end is hamstrings.

Your best bet is gonna be squats and deadlifts. If you have access to one a Glute ham raise would be great to strengthen the hamstrings.

I've been doing plenty of squats and deadlifts (heavy, light, and speedy), but I'm looking for specialization in the actual techniques of running fast if that makes sense?

Yep makes sense. Well for that your gonna need a running coach who can look at your technique.

Also search Dr Michael Yessis. He is one of the blokes instrumental in bringing the Russian training information over to America and has some good information on sprint training.

Joe DeFranco wrote up a little piece on what makes up running speed. Might be worth looking at
Would definitely see a running coach though

Adamklam where do you live? I have some experience coaching sprinters and sportspeople who sprint.
If you're not close-by, video will do fine.
