What setting stops the avatar from being viewed. From this computer i cant see them but from work i can...
 
Go into your UserCP at the top of the page, scroll down until you see "Edit Settings" and then scroll down to the "Thread Display Options/Visible Post Elements" and click/unlick the box next to "Show Avatars".
